Rockland, antibodies-online, and The Jackson Laboratory Partner to Exclusively Offer Innovative Genome Editing Tools to Researchers Worldwide
LIMERICK, Pa .— The Jackson Laboratory (JAX), an independent, nonprofit biomedical research institution dedicated to discovering the genetic and genomic basis of diseases, has entered an exclusivity agreement with Rockland Immunochemicals, Inc. (Rockland) and antibodies-online GmbH (antibodies-online) to provide genomic engineering tools for immuno-oncology research and the development of diagnostics and therapeutics across the globe.
The tool sets will be available for purchase and licensing via Rockland, a leading research reagent manufacturer and custom service provider, and antibodies-online, a go-to destination for research antibodies, ELISA kits, and proteins. A variety of gene editing technologies will be available in these tool sets, including Casilio® and Intres selectable markers developed at JAX.
Casilio® is a CRISPR/dCas9-based enzyme that aids with in situ and in vivo functional studies; and Intres split selectable markers can be utilized in lentiviral transgenesis and CRISPR/Cas-mediated genome editing. Casilio® allows for the study of genes inside living organisms, with the unique ability to simultaneously regulate multiple target genes in a cell. Intres split selectable markers allows for the selection of the right cell population to keep track of these genes as changes are made to them using different methods.
